Dale Squires, S.E. Region Sales Manager for ShoreStation wins the 2016 Captain Ed Day Award of Excellence.

Dale Squires, Southeast Region Sales Manager for ShoreStation since 2013, has recently been awarded the coveted Captain Edward R Day Award of Excellence. Awarded annually to a member of the Florida Marine Contractor’s Association (FMCA) who has shown outstanding leadership and hard work in promoting the goals of the FMCA, Dale is undoubtedly a most deserving recipient. Dale serves the Texas to North Carolina borders, Florida Keys, and the Caribbean.

This prestigious award was created to honor FMCA’s founding father, Captain Edward R Day. “Captain Ed” was a decorated and successful U.S. Navy Captain, who became a Marine Contractor in Marco Island following his retirement from the Navy. After retiring as a marine contractor, he joined FMCA as its Founding Executive Director, and worked diligently toward accomplishing the goals of the FMCA from the first few years of its existence, until his passing in 2002.

The Florida Marine Contractor’s Association is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to employ the resources of its membership to contribute to the professionalism in the marine industry; the marine construction industry in particular. Members of FMCA must be licensed and fully-insured. Squires states, “FMCA’s contractors are some of the best that serve Florida’s massive residential and commercial client base. There are few other states that have such a consumer beneficial organization.”

Squires serves the association by holding an at-large voting board seat as Secretary. His responsibilities include maintaining board meeting minutes, drafting press releases, and rebroadcasting association activities. In the field, Dale acts on behalf of all marine contractors, FMCA members or not, as he educates and promotes the advocacy initiatives of the FMCA at the state level.

As an associate member company of the FMCA, ShoreStation has attended and sponsored every FMCA event since 2014. “ShoreStation is steadfast in its efforts to foster fluid power boat lift knowledge and eliminate misconceptions about hydraulic boat lift systems,” says Squires.
